VERDI was born in June 2006 and is an elegant, kind gentleman. His stunning looks are complemented by a charming temperament, bright mind and fabulous movement. He is a Friesian with that stunning presence.
He was born at our farm and his birth was flawless for his full pedigreed FPS registered STER mom (view video).
Verdi is an extremely rare colt in Canada. His sire is Rindert 406, an FPS-approved Friesian stallion that won a first-prize award at the 2006 Dutch Friesian Stallion Show. This stallion's semen is not available in North America, which is why we imported his mom in foal. Rindert has a fabulous trot, as does Verdi's mom. The genes were passed on; Verdi is a very pretty mover in all three gaits.

Verdi's mom is FPS registered Ster mare, Odette fan de Koldenhool, one of our winning dressage Friesians. Odette's sire is FPS-approved Stallion Lute 304. Verdi's motherline is STER-STER +PREF-Stb-MODEL-STER. An extremely well-bred young man!
Having been handled every day since birth, he's always been very good with the vet and farrier and is very easy to work with. Check out the photos of Verdi remaining on his own in the middle of our dressage arena.
He is quite brave, and is used to noisy, heavy equipment, ducks, chickens, cats, dogs and deer. He's curious, friendly, and positively loves being brushed.
Verdi was gently weaned and later introduced to a tiny borrowed Welsh mare, as a companion and playmate for a few months. He is now much more grown up, and is not a bit bothered when his mom leaves for show weekends. He is well-mannered in his stall, and used to being in his own paddock.
